Description
The images are helpful. I suggest looking at them for the recommended set-up. I have posted the F3Z file so that you may edit anything, but I will do anything you want me to design, just comment it!
This compact gate valve assembly is designed for small-scale fluid systems utilizing standard tubing with an inner diameter range of 3–4 mm. The files comprise the following components:
Gate Valve Body and Knob:
The body fits standard tubing and is completely water-tight when put along with the valve knob. Both were made on a resin printer and can be made on FDM printers with qualities above 1mm horizontal. This has a triangular base to add more grip flexibility. The knob is hard to insert, but is made so that it will stay there. At the end, there is an outward-going, pulled part that allows the knbo to stay inside the body without leaving. The knob is made to be harder to turn when it is open and does not need to be perfectly horizontal to close off the fluid or ants passing through. This is because the central circle is much bigger than normal.
Tube Connectors (Male and Female):
These are NOT PERFECT. Sadly, I cannot make them be perfectly tight when you put them in, because if I make it with any smaller tolerances, I cannot put them in, or cannot take them out. Be free to try to fix this. I have put a F3Z file of everything, but I think that the easiest way to solve this is by putting a small piece of cotton on the outer tube connector and letting them connect like that. It is water-tight and ant-proof, and I have very small ants (Pheidole bicarinata). I recommend printing another set of these for each you use, so that you can fill their exits with cotton and put them on whenever you want to disconnect one.
Part Holder:
Goes under the aquarium (the long extended rectangle with the parts going next to the aquarium) to support itself and hold the parts for your ants.
This is modular, and this was also made for a 5-gallon fish tank from Walmart, I think, so I have included the handle and corner cover for that tomato the entire thing ant-proof. Let me know if you have any questions or concerns, or anything you want me to do!
I have a lot of other ant things that work well for me, so check them out please! I spend a. lot of time on everything (this thing took me well over three weeks) and I want to know what you guys like. Please comment and heart this thing!
Most importantly:
I want to see what you guys make with these! Please make a make!
