Description
This is a versatile, 3D printable DC Distribution Box (4 Channel) designed by Choo2Hands. It was initially developed as a reliable power hub to supply external cooling fans for the X and Y axes of 3D printers (like the Ender 3 V3), preventing heat buildup during continuous, 24/7 printing operations.
The design is modular and features:
Input: DC 5V - 30V via Banana Jacks.
Output: 4 independent channels, each with an On/Off Switch and LED Status Indicator.
Two Versions Included:
Protected Version: Includes slots for PTC Fuse 1A (auto-resetting overcurrent protection).
Non-Protected Version: For loads requiring higher current or having their own internal protection circuits.
Recommended Print Settings for Durability:
Material: PETG (Highly recommended for heat resistance).
Nozzle/Bed Temp: 235 degrees Celsius - 232 degrees Celsius Nozzle / 70 degrees Celsius Bed.
Infill: 30%.
Layer Height: 0.2 mm for smooth finish.
IMPORTANT TIP (For Cooling Mods): If using this box to power supplementary cooling fans, you must print and install a wind guard/baffle to prevent the airflow from hitting the heated print bed. This prevents warping and ensures proper print adhesion.
Required Components:
Switches: 4 x On/Off Toggle Switches
LEDs: 4 x LED Diodes (3mm or 5mm recommended)
Resistors: 4 x Resistor (6.2k Ohm value is used in the original design)
Jacks: 5 x Banana Jack Pairs (Red/Black)
Wire: 16 AWG Pure Copper Wire (for internal wiring and output leads)
Screws: Small screws or bolts (to secure the top plate to the base box)
Optional Components (For Protected Version):
Fuses: 4 x PTC Fuse 1A (TDK C870 0239 or equivalent auto-resetting fuse)
