WHY IS THERE A HOLE IN IT?
We had a choice between two less-than-ideal images.
The model "as it printed here... and after painting". Unfortunately, this print had a hole that was always intended to be covered up by subsequent decorations... but... it does show a flaw that's no longer in the model. (The new model has no hole, but a solid flat circular mount point for accessories, you can relax).
The subsequently painted & decorated model... which hides the hole, but the model doesn't include the accessories that Ren had attached at the time of taking the image. Obviously this isn't ideal as it promises more than the model will deliver...
Have a look at the STL file so you know what you're getting (TIP: Mac OS's finder can preview the file by selecting the file and hitting space bar, you can manipulate the image angle by dragging your mouse from there... or use a slicer app as you'd normally do).
Well anyway, we intentionally left a flat surface so you can stick things to it too. That way, it'll be truly bespoke/custom to your needs. Things you could glue here (and on other places on the teapot) include cabochons, "Steampunk craft accessories" (according to Ali Express) and little cameos, which are ideal candidates. Of course, little watch faces, and gears are also quite commonly used options too.
THAT HANDLE NEEDS SUPPORT DURING PRINTING:
When printing this, you WILL want to use organic supports, trust me on this... it's much easier to remove on those thin-ish handles/spout.
ABOUT THIS:
This is the brain child of my better half who loves to make theatrical/period/fancy dress/masquerade/ball gowns, and she does not do things by half. She wanted a prop to attach to a bespoke top hat for a steampunk event, so here we are. This is the first collaborative design effort since I was teaching her "all things Fusion", and she designed the base shape while I tended to some of the finer and more problematic details. It's not normally what I use Fusion for, but hey, it's a chance to branch out.
Don't worry, she suggested that I share our model with you all, and so here it is as requested.
I'm sure my better half would LOVE to see your makes! (See below for her make)
