This model is what I use to affix the Speedybee F405 Wing Mini to the flik wing. The orientation ends up being upside-down, and I use the top PCB to zip-tie the ELRS module to the FC stack. The extra clearance provided by this mount can be used to run the ESC cables under the flight stack.
Steps:
- Use the angled servo/motor DuPont stubs that come with the FC instead of the vertical ones.
- Insert the 4 heat-set inserts with a soldering iron.
- Screw in the M2 screws tightly. These will be locked in place by some E6000 glue, so make sure they are secure.
- Glue the mount to the model, aligning the ridge of the mount with the ridge in the chassis.
- Assemble the standoffs that come with the FC as shown in the gallery
If there is something you need to modify, you can download the FreeCAD .FCStd files and remix to your liking (for example, you may change the diameters of the holes if you want to avoid using heat set inserts).
WARNINGS:
- It is advised to put some kapton tape (or other insulating tape) over the spar, as it is conductive and comes in close proximity with some of the servo pins.
- Make sure to tell Ardupilot (or your choice of FC firmware) that the FC is upside-down!
Requires the following hardware:
For the base
- M2x6mm x4
- M2x4mm Heat Set Insert
For the WiFi Mount
- M3x6mm x2
- M3x4mm Heat Set Insert
- Some velcro to stick it to the battery holder.
