Snowflake Christmas Ball 2025

A fun Christmas ornament to decorate your tree!

The ball has a flattened bottom to increase bed adhesion and reduce overhangs for the first few layers. I experimented with how much to cut off, settling on shaving an extra 0.35mm off beyond what you see in the photo. It will hardly be noticeable on a tree. Plus, you can set them down on a shelf and they won't roll away.

Printing is pretty easy.

• You'll need supports because there are a few parts that start printing in thin air. Use organic with a 30 degree overhang.
• I used 2-3 perimeters at the very top and bottom and 1 perimeter everywhere else
• Top and bottom solid layers are 5 for most of the model, but again higher for the top and bottom.
• 10% lightning infill everywhere

I've provided my PrusaSlicer project file and GCODE for a Prusa MK3S+ printer. This model would look great printed in two colors. So, I've added a second project file for PrusaSlicer for a Core One with MMU with the loop at the top and the snowflakes painted a second color.
