Description
Balkancar electric truck EP-type, late 70th, earlier 80th
The Bulgarian company Balkancar was established in 1951/52 to produce industrial electric trucks and forklifts, in 1978 Balkancar became the world largest (by number of delivered units) producer of such equipment and could keep this position within the earlier 80th. Of course, by far the most units were exported to USSR and other countries of the Eastern bloc, but also many to other countries around the world, including some to Western Europe.
This is a model of a typical electric truck of the golden age of Balkancar, an EP-type with the typical angular style of the late seventies, early eighties. Being quite simple and long-lasting in design, these trucks are often still in use as of today.
I had fun creating this model, including driver and baggage cart, and hope someone else can use it in his layout or diorama or as ground equipment for his airplane model.
