Anbernic RG-DS Comfort Grip

I recently got myself one of Anbernic's Nintendo DS emulator boxes, the RG-DS. And it has proven to be surprisingly great, so I have been playing with it a lot. And that was how I discovered those stylish looking sharp corners really dig into the palms of your hands after a while.

As such, I went and found an existing grip model, MrBright's RG40xxv grip, and sliced it about and added stuff until it got me what I wanted. Having a grip on this handheld makes a good deal of difference, and all of it positive.

The grip is designed to have a layer of sticky-backed felt added to the inside of the case to help hold the RG-DS in place, and I have added buttons to allow the volume and power to be accessed without having to remove the grip. The printed buttons slide into the holes in the grip, and are held in place with the little 3-hole plate.

NOTE: Please make sure these buttons are pushed all the way to the right before you slide the handheld into the grip, so that the nubs that make contact the RG-DS's buttons don't get damaged.

It is possible to close the lid with the grip in place, and whilst it doesn't close all the way, it closes far enough to put the machine to sleep. Also, I didn't add a headphone jack hole as I use BT earbuds, but that should be easy for anyone with access to TinkerCAD to put in place!
