Description
A Tri-Bahtinov Mask made for collimating the Celestron Edge HD 8" (CST) and standard C8 version with a Hyperstar 8 v4 installed. With the Hyperstar 8 v4 installed the mask needs different slit sizes as well as a split design to allow for installation with cables and the front mounted camera. This design features a split that uses a diagonal cut to block light along the seam and round magnets (6mm x 3mm) to align the two sides after installation. No hinges are used to allow for easier storage when not in use. Notches on the sides allow for clearance around the two screws on the telescope's edge.
This design also includes a cover to limit the mask's diffraction spikes to a single axis. I have drawn lines and arrows on mine as show in some of the photos to help with alignment. The inner arrow needs to point towards a set of adjustment screws, while the outer cover line must match one of the three lines on the mask's outer rim. The mask is rotated after each axis is properly aligned.
I have included the Fusion (.f3d file) so edits can be made or makes for other sizes of telescopes.

note: the mask side with the small pegs does need a couple of simple supports from the build plate; they can be very small and should be easy to remove.
