Description
The DSO183 is mechanically distinct from the DSO138. The DS0138 has the same PCB size, can be built in this case too (the front arrangement is different) and requires a MT3608 Module booster power supply to raise the lithium battery output to 9V.
This enclosure is large enough to contain a flat 2Ah Li-Ion battery, a charger board, and an on/off switch, making the scope fully portable. I omitted the bulky BNC connector; the bandwidth is so low that a BNC is unnecessary. Instead, I soldered two flexible wires with crocodile clips directly to the PCB.
The battery connects to the pins of the USB Type-C connector, with the positive and negative terminals clearly marked on the PCB.
For the cover plate, I used laser-engraved and cut 3mm lacquered plywood. For those who find this material insufficiently technical, drawings are also provided for materials like plexiglass.
The DSO183 is a compact, DIY digital oscilloscope kit featuring a 500kHz bandwidth, 1.5Msps sampling rate, 12-bit ADC, and a 1024-point buffer. It is powered by 5V DC via USB-C and includes a built-in signal generator (producing sine, triangle, and square waves). Designed for electronics enthusiasts, it offers additional features such as waveform storage and parameter display.
This is a clever design based on the STM32C103C8T6 MCU. The signal generator is a very simple circuit, built using the two remaining op-amps of the TL084. The sine waveform has significant distortion. Additionally, for DC calibration, there is a voltage divider providing outputs of 3V, 300mV, 30mV, and even a negative -300mV.
