Metric M6 and 1/4" imperial versions:
- Clamps over 25mm (1") shaft - wrap a bit of tape around it for grip and to prevent marking it.
- Clear safety shield:
-- Don't use acrylic/Perspex, styrene, etc., because they shatter, only use Polycarbonate (PC) or PVC.
-- Thinner is lighter: shown with a 0.8mm (1/32") thick PC sheet from the local hardware store.
-- Make it as big or small as you want: 500mm (20") x 250mm (10") shown, but smaller works too. Trade-off between it getting in the way and providing protection.
-- Mount centrally to keep everything balanced.
- Use strong material and print settings.
- Needs four each 25mm (1") long cap-screws and Nyloc nuts; suggest using stainless ones.
- Parts are in the correct print orientation for best strength.
- Nuts are retained in printed parts so first time around they need a bit of a push to seat.
- Colors:
-- Print Ryobi colors to make it look professional.
-- Print in other loud colors to start a conversation with neighbors and passers-by.
-- Print in black so it doesn't show dirt.
