Description
This was the first design I did to hold our disks. It works for CD's/DvD's/BDR's, anything you don't mind putting in a clam shell. They're specifically formed to be compatible with clamshell cd/dvd cases which can be found on Amazon. We bought ours here: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B06Y5RWFK1?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_fed_asin_title
I've included the 3mf files so the inner molding can be changed if you need it to fix something else.
Please note: This design is flawed as the brim doesn't go around the entire lid, just around the sides, which causes it to slide when the disks tilt. I have since created a better design using drawers.
Some of the lids in this file are embossed with the word "Britannic." This is because we were also using the bins to store backups of our family server. If you don't want yours embossed, simply avoid the file marked as embossed.
This was printed with an Ender 5 Max, using black and white SUNLU PLA. It may require resizing to fit smaller beds.
If you'd like a more convenient design, I'm uploading a better model right after I finish this post. ^.^
Things I fixed in the better model: The bins in the next model are stackable drawers with card holders, not just poorly designed boxes that have faulty lids.
Despite this being flawed, I wanted to post it because I like going back and seeing how our thoughts evolved. Without this model, I never would have realized all the issues there were with it and the alterations I wanted to make. How convenient it would be as a drawer, the idea of the card holder so I can know what's in the drawer before I open it, being able to stack them to save room, and the sliders that stop the disks from falling over. (The sliders still need further improvement.)
