Description
This was the next design I created for a CD's/DvD's/BDR's holder. Basically any kind of disk you don't mind putting in a clam shell.
They drawers are formed to be compatible with clamshell cd/dvd cases which can be found on Amazon.
We bought ours here: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B06Y5RWFK1?ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_fed_asin_title
This improved version of the organizer is stackable, and a drawer so it will fully close even if the disks tilt, it also has a card slot so you can alphabetize your disks or organize them by year.
I've included several variations on the designs including one with the handle and card separated so you can add them where you like on the drawer for convenience. I recommend printing it with the handle attached to avoid any difficulty opening the drawer. There is a version that has the cardholder and the handle attached, though printing that variation comes with it's own complications. I recommend printing the cardholder separately and attaching it with glue. This allows you to control the color and placement.
This variation also includes dividers marked from A to Z as well as a blank one and a separate one for Family Photos. I lumped these all into the same 2 files (2 stl and 2 3mf's) because each bed may fit a different amount of them. Mine fits four. But this way each individual can pull what fits their individual bed.
There are also sliders to try and stop the dvd's from falling over. They don't work because I didn't add a back leg onto the original design. Though the file is included because it's already sized to the bottom of the drawer and might help others with a design if they really want a slider that works.
If you wish to turn this into normal drawers I included all the original designs for the drawer interior. I just zeroed out the box made the interior the correct shape and size deleted it from the correct position. Just make sure you allow enough space for the sliders along the bottom of the drawer.
One of mine was accidentally printed hollow after I forgot to change the settings when printing a lithophane. It suffered a slight crack while removing the supports, but it still functions fine. It is a little louder when opening it.
I printed this on an ender 5 max using SUNLU pla, in gray, white, and black.
Printers with smaller beds may need to alter the length of the print to fit.
