Description
Are you thinking about installing fibre optic cables in your home or office?
Are you frustrated by the incredibly inconvenient shape of LC-LC connectors, and how they seem to snag on absolutely everything?
Need something that may make your life a lot easier?
Me too! Hence I made this.
As someone who recently ran several fibre optic cables through the various crawl spaces of my home, I was honestly struck by how frequently it became stuck. So I built a bullet-shaped or "nose cone" (if you prefer) created a socket in the back to plug the LC-LC connector into it, and added a hole in the front to tie any string, wall fishing rod/tape/whatever to it to pull it through. I used my "fishing tape" and literally cable-tied the loop to the hole in this model.
I made it big enough to fit the connectors in, and small enough to get through some fairly tight spaces. Interestingly, it worked well over truss work and joists, but worked very well in 50mm conduit. It particularly excels at flexible (ribbed) conduit which is notorious for catching on connectors when you least want it to.
I hope this helps someone out there!
