IKEA NYSJON - Moisture Damage Fix

A simple 3D-printed protector for cabinet doors that have been damaged by water at the bottom edge.

Many MDF or particleboard doors start to swell and peel when exposed to humidity or splashes. Instead of replacing the whole door, this part covers the damaged area and protects it from further moisture.

Just slide it onto the bottom edge of the door.

Important:
If the wood has swollen or become bumpy, clean and sand the damaged area first.
The covers are designed to fit tightly, so they may not slide in properly if the swollen material is not removed.

It is recommended to place a very thin double-sided tape over the damaged area before installing the cover. This helps seal the surface, since the printed part itself is not watertight.

You could also use silicone, but it is not recommended because it may look messy and affect the final aesthetics.

A total of 12 screws is required (6 per cover).
Use screws with a 6 mm conical (countersunk) head, like the ones shown in the photo.
