Description
A sprouts germinator which makes necessary frequent rinsing low effort.
Fully customizable design with reasonable presets.
Object is low effort as you can easily take out the germination bowl (the middle part), hold it under the tap for rinsing, then place it on the base again. Optional brackets (or, optionally removable brackets) for mounting the bowl on a pair of L shaped hooks, mounted to the wall near or above kitchen sink shorten distance to water and effort to rinse even more. Those can also be used for a V shaped steel wire/rod handle with upwards cropped ends. Or, removed completely from print.
Consists of four parts - those can be selected from the model customizer - preferably in a locally running installation of OpenSCAD - to render stl files for each of those. Object preset selects all four parts, showing them as combined view.
.stl files of all four parts were generated for a 20 cm diameter germinator.
An improved version has been created, reducing the number of parts to three, by eliminating the extra handle. Instead has the handle been shaped into the lid. Also, germination bowls are now stackable, and offer a choice of grid patterns: triangular, square or hexagonal. Stackable bowls remain compatible with those you may already have printed, lest those are used as the lowermost bowl.
That version has not yet been uploaded, but I expect it to hit the server in a few days. It includes libraries of mine - publishing means maintaining distinct source files. A preview for now, the last picture.
