A fun decorative piece to add to your updo. Simply create the piece, put your hair into a bun, and then twist the vine into the bun. Voila!

Coloring

            <div><p>While the piece still looks good printed in a single material (it looks REALLY good in multi-colored silk), there are two methods to achieve dual color:<br>1) Change Filament - The vine tops out at about 2.25 mm, so you can changed the filament material any time after that to get color onto the flower<br>2) Use a Dual/Multi-material 3D Printer: I have included a two-part file option where the flower and the vine are separated out and can be separately assigned to different materials. </p></div>                <p class="detail-title"><strong>Getting the Right Shape</strong></p>            <div><p>The piece prints flat so that no supports are required.  Instead to get the 3D spiral shape you need to post-process with heat.</p><p>1) Apply Heat</p><ul><li>If you have a heated print bed:  Keep the piece on the bed and set the bed temperature to 60C or hotter (for PLA material - for other materials, look up their glass-transition temperature and set at that value). Give the piece a minute or so for the bottom to get warmed up.</li></ul><ul><li>If you do not have a heated print bed: Boil some water and place the piece (ideally just the vine portion) into the hot water for a moment OR use a hot air blower on the vine</li></ul><p>2) Distort<br>Hold the Flower, and carefully pull it up away from the vine; the vine should naturally start to move up, creating a 3D spiral.<br>If you want, add more depth by pulling the leaf and/or tail end out of plane.</p><p>Once cool, the piece will hold its shape.  But be careful not to try to distort the material when cold as you will be more likely to snap and break your piece.</p></div>
