A fun twist on the classic Easter egg available as one piece or two!

The two piece egg clicks together and pulls apart. Since it's a friction fit, the tightness will vary greatly depending on your filament, printer, and settings. To separate the two pieces, twist and pull. If the fit is very tight, twist the top and bottom back and forth to sand the pieces that ouch each other. In extreme cases, you can reprint the pieces and use XY Size Compensation with a negative number to increase the gap between the pieces. In PrusaSlicer, this setting is under Print Settings - Advanced.

I strongly recommend printing this model with supports. The dome of the top of the two piece egg will print much better with supports. Adding supports also improved bed adhesion with minimal increases to filament usage and print time for the bottom of the two piece egg and the bottom of the one piece.

I've included my PrusaSlicer project files and GCODE for a Prusa Core One L printer.

##Two Piece Egg Settings:

  • Perimeters: 2
  • Infill: 15% Rectilinear
  • Supports: 40% overhang using Grid supports
  • Brim: 10mm (top half only)

Orient both halves so the bottom of the model is the side that touches the build plate.

##One Piece Settings:

  • Perimeters: 2
  • Infill: 15% Lightning
  • Supports: 40% overhang using Grid supports
