NASA Orion Artemis

This is a remix of DeltaXF thingy ‘NASA Orion Spacecraft’ and is a work in progress.

I have been following the Artemis II mission and noting some of the live view details to add to this model. The parts have added alignment lugs and newly designed pieces.

There are optional thruster packs and mini-thrusters – these parts were modelled a bit over-scale as they are at my minimum threshold for printability. If you print and add these to your model, I have included a stand-off spacer for the display stand mounting peg.

Included is a PDF sheet for optional decals, the solar panel array (front and back sides) and the ORION display inset logo. I have also added my 4x6 mini movie poster for this Artemis II mission to add to your display.

This model was remixed and new parts designed in Tinkercad. Printed on a ELEGOO Centauri Carbon with Hatchbox matte white PLA, supports and, if necessary, rafts – depending on your printer. For scale, the model I built and posted has a SM-CM Outer ring diameter of approximately 70mm.

UPDATE 6/9/2026 - A 'smooth' hull service module file has been added

As an old dude I was lucky enough to watch the Apollo missions and Gene Cernan as the ‘The Last Man on the Moon’ with Apollo 17 in 1972.
I hope this model will bring you closer to enjoying our return to deep space and maybe serve as a project for a STEM class.
