UPDATE [10/Apr/2026]
If you downloaded this prior to 10/Apr/2006 you will notice that several files have changed.
I further modified the wings and engine mounts so that the engines will fold down into the rest position and they will also swivel between vertical take off/landing and horizontal flight positions.
This has increased the complexity of assembly for the engine mounts, but I think it's worth it.
I suggest that rather than using the s_eng_piv_pins, it is better to use metal rods. This is what I did and it is much stronger. Using plastic pins will not last too long if you adjust the engine position numerous times. I have added photos of the pin fitment for the pivot arms.
Depending on how clean your printer layers are, it may be necessary to drill out all the mounting holes in the engines, wings and pivot arms. The holes are in mm sizes.
You will also need to drill a hole for the upper landing strut. No need to drill a hole for the lower one as it just needs to be touching the cargo section... the upper one needs to slide in a few mm and glued into position.
I strongly recommend that you print all components as per the STL files. I always orient my parts for optimal strength.
This is especially important for rods and pins... they should never be printed vertically as they break way to easily.
Supports:
When in doubt, turn them on. If they are not needed they won't print, if they are needed, they will. Most of the files [in this model] do need supports.
Tree supports will make for much easier removal and cleanup of the model. Also print quicker than traditional supports.
Layer Height:
The wings, engines, pivot arms and pistons should be printed at 0.1 layer height.
All the body parts should be printed at .2 layer height.
If your printer likes to print at 300mm per second, I'd be slowing it to 50% after bed levelling. You will get a cleaner print... especially for the small items.
Original Text
I remixed my own model, adding lading gear, an open cargo door and swivelling engines...
