Description
Tēnā koutou katoa,
I...well, ok, I got Claude AI to make me a Command Decision scenario to represent part of the 2nd NZ Division's rear guard action at Thermopylae in 1941 for my 20mm Kiwis (Esci Brits!) to fight. On the map there was an area marked "ruins", so I decided to produce some. Apparently, there was an ancient monument depicting The Lion of Leonidas installed by the Lacedaemonians to commemorate their most famous son - https://historica.fandom.com/wiki/Lion_of_Leonidas. It's long gone now, it was long gone in 1941, but still...
Inspired by the article and great picture above, I found a Lion from perefou, some Greek Columns by PaintLikeNoOnesWatching (that I chopped up into sections to fall them apart even further), Code2's Rock Floor Tiles, a Cave Wall by Zach off Printables (https://www.printables.com/model/428378-stony-cave-angled-walls-openforge-20/files), and a Gloomhaven Boulder by Robagon3D, also off Printables (https://www.printables.com/model/10437-boulders-for-gloomhaven-sculpted-1-2-3-hex/files), threw them all together in Tinkercad, and came up with this. Works quite well with my 20mm figures, and will make an interesting terrain piece for our 32mm roleplaying adventures.
When it comes to painting it, I'll probably add a touch of filler to hide the most obvious layer lines...
Kia ora,
Nick
