Nakba Keys - A symbol from Palestine

These are various decorative symbols, that can also be used as keychains, to remember the Nakba of 1948.

What is the Nakba?

• In 1948 Zionist Paramiliatries decended upon 530 Palestinian cities and villiages. As the result of the massacres and ethnic cleansing at least 750000 Palestinians fled and at least 10000 Palestinians had been killed. This gruesome event marks the beginning of the colonization of Palestine by Israel. For many the Nakba never ended. Today the horror of the ethnic cleansing evolved into a new extreme with the genocide we are currently still witnessing.

What is the importance of the keys?

• Today many Palestinians still carry the keys of their homes they had to flee. Given to them by previous generations while there are also people still alive that had to witness the Nakba themself. The keys have become a symbol for their right to return and their right of self-determination that had been continually denied. With that they are also a symbol against all the injustice and for the resistance to it that can never be erased.

The Nakba Day is on the 15th of May, many cultural events and demonstrations are happening around that day all over the world.

Variations

• All can be printed in single color or multi-color but they had been created for multi-color in mind.

• There are simple keys with text or without. The key bend part can actually be bended to create an opening to put it on you keychain.

• There are keys with the raised fist symbol having the key in its hand .The key bend part can be actually bended to create an opening to put it on you keychain.

• There are 3d bended variants with a ring around it. The ring can be bended open there to be able to put in on a keychain
