Special tool to assist with fitting the ignition lock on the BMW /5 Series

This tool is used to hold the ignition lock in place above the mounting plate in the headlight housing during assembly on a BMW R75/5, 60/5 or 50/5. It is similar to the original tool, which is no longer available; that tool had two retaining tabs on the top (near the recesses) for hooking the tool onto the top of the headlight.

I printed the tool in PLA with a height of 3 mm and a layer height of 0.2 mm. For the hooks, I used nails which I bent into shape and attached to the tool using superglue and insulating tape.

This tool makes it much easier to hold the ignition lock in place whilst attaching the terminal plate to the tabs.

Only suitable for BMW /5 series motorcycles.
