FlexNet – Modular Table Tennis Net System

A modular 3D-printable table tennis net system featuring both clamp-mounted and free-standing options, allowing you to create custom net lengths by adding or removing sections.

Description
I designed FlexNet as a modular table tennis net system that can be configured to suit different table sizes and playing areas.
The design can be used with either table clamps for a secure attachment or free-standing bases for quick setup on a variety of surfaces. Additional net sections can be added or removed as required, making the system adaptable for different applications.
The honeycomb-inspired net structure helps reduce material usage while maintaining strength and keeping print times reasonable.

Printing
The prototype shown was printed in PETG, making it suitable for both indoor and outdoor use.

PETG recommended for durability and weather resistance
Some parts require supports, particularly the clamp components and any parts with overhangs
0.2 mm layer height recommended
Print as many net sections as required to achieve your desired length
Adjust print settings as needed for your printer

Assembly

Print the required net sections, posts, and mounting components.
Join the net sections together using the connector system.
Choose either the clamp mounts or free-standing bases.
Assemble and enjoy playing.

Designer's Note
I'm a designer by background but still relatively new to 3D printing. This project was created as a practical solution while also helping me learn more about designing for additive manufacturing.
The model has printed and worked well for me, but many of you will probably have more experience with print settings, orientations, and optimisation than I do. If you find better ways to print the parts or improve performance, I'd love to hear your feedback and see your makes.
Customisation

The modular design allows you to create shorter or longer nets depending on your requirements. Simply print additional net sections to extend the overall length.
