96 well plate / 0.2 mL strip tube Magnet Rack

NEW AND IMPROVED.

This is a magnet holder for magnetic bead separation for either a 96 well plate - or a 96 well plate with the wells cut out can be taped on top to hold 8 tube strips. The magnets for this new version must be custom ordered (KJ magnets) but it is well worth it for the improved performance. Now beads are pulled up and to the side making it much easier to pipette out the contents without disturbing the beads. The magnet specs are:

Custom NdFeB Block Magnet, Part No. 4C3M04
2.750" x 0.188" x 0.188" thick
Grade N42, Nickel (Ni-Cu-Ni) Plated, magnetized through 0.188 in thickness
Qty 24 @ $6.35 each (minimum order quantity)

I am not sure if that order number will stay in the system though. The minimum order makes 4 magnet racks, so if you need less - team up with another group. For tube racks just cut the top rings off of a 96-well plate and tape it to magnet rack (shown in photos).

NOTE: The first version uses available magnets (http://www.kjmagnetics.com/proddetail.asp?prod=BZ082), not custom order, but pulls beads to the bottom, not the side. The new version (303) performs much better and is recommended.
