2A46M-1 Smoothbore 125 mm gun

This model represents the 2A46M-1 125 mm smoothbore gun, a further development of the 2A46M variant, introduced in the early 1980s to enhance accuracy and service life.

The 2A46M-1 featured a strengthened barrel and improved manufacturing tolerances, resulting in reduced dispersion compared to earlier variants, while remaining fully compatible with existing Soviet 125 mm ammunition and autoloading systems.

This gun was primarily fitted to T-80 tanks, mid-production t-72 series and represented an intermediate stage between the early 2A46M models and later high-precision variants like the 2A46M-4/5
