Automaton Devastators (Helldivers 2)

The A-2 Devastator is a heavily armored super-heavy infantry unit utilized by the Automatons. They stand 2.2 meters tall at the shoulders and share the same head, optics, and faceplate as the smaller A-1 Raiders. Their standard armament is a twin-linked laser cannon, embedded directly into their forearms. While raiders carry their firearms in-hand, the Devastator's primary weapon is embedded directly into the exoskeleton, which provides all the necessary power and heat-dispersion for the weapon.

A subtype of the standard Devastator, often attached to their squads, foregoes the right forearm and opposable hand in favor of a heavy laser cannon (DVST_HL). This weapon is a scaled-down variant of the lasers seen on the Hulk Bruiser, useful in attacking entrenched infantry, breaching fortifications, or damaging enemy vehicles. Its primary drawback is the lower rate of fire, requiring a noticeable cooldown and charge-up before firing. While the cannon is powerful, these are not a replacement for the AA and ATGM roles served by the Rocket Raiders or Rocket Devastators.

Devastators are typically deployed alongside the Raiders to draw fire and push the line forward during direct assaults. While not as heavily armored as the Hulks, their plating is rated to withstand small-arms fire, requiring heavy ordinance or a direct shot to the head in order to disable them.
