Description
For a long time, cruisers filled the gap between very light ships such as torpedo boats and battleships. Cruisers are capable of withstanding attacks from small ships and navigating far from their bases. Although battleships have great power in combat, they are too slow and require too much fuel (especially after using steam engines), making it difficult for them to engage in long-range combat. For most of the 19th century and early 20th century, cruisers were the long-range deterrent weapons of a fleet, while battleships stayed near their bases. The main function of cruisers is to attack enemy caravans. Cruisers pay more attention to speed and adopt slender and acceleration friendly hulls to optimize high-speed navigation.
