Description
Didactic design of a prokaryotic cell that includes all relevant elements that can be found within it. The design consists of different parts that can be printed separately in different colors and then assembled. Tolerances were taken into account for the fit of the elements, but this may vary depending on each printer. The parts can be slightly scaled to correct for the tolerances of your 3D printer.
Important note: This design is intended to use 1.75 mm diameter 3D printing filament for some parts of the cell. Ribosomes are obtained by inserting pieces of filament, and the same goes for Pilus, which is added on the exterior of the capsule. For the nucleoid, a filament roll is used and bent to simulate the circular DNA, and then fitted into the present structure. ABS is recommended for this, as it is more resistant, and heat can be used to bend it more easily.
