🔎General Information
This is a detailed INERT 3D model for the Soviet RPO-A Shmel Thermobaric Launcher and Projectile. The primary use of the RPO-A Shmel is to clear out entrenched enemy infantry, bunkers, fortified buildings, and light armored vehicles using a powerful, single-use thermobaric blast that creates a massive fireball and a destructive overpressure wave. It is excellent for display and training purposes, and can also be used in documentary animations or enthusiast projects.
The RPO-A Shmel is a man-portable, single-use rocket launcher designed by the Soviet Union and widely used for clearing out fortified positions and urban strongholds. Classified technically as a "reactive infantry flamethrower," it fires a specialized capsule containing roughly 2.1 kilograms of a highly volatile liquid hydrocarbon compound. Upon striking a target, the projectile ruptures to disperse an aerosol cloud that instantly ignites, creating a massive, high-temperature fireball and a lethal overpressure wave. This destructive combination makes it devastatingly effective against entrenched infantry, bunkers, and light armored vehicles, offering the heavy firepower of an artillery shell in a lightweight, disposable package.
