Description
This set represents the standardized 500 mm late-war waffle track, the most widely used factory-installed track type on T-34 tanks from 1943 through 1945.
Recognizable by its clean rectangular grid and highly regular waffle geometry, this pattern reflects the stabilization of Soviet wartime manufacturing after the chaotic early-war period. By 1943, production had become more consistent, resulting in the uniform tread layout seen on the majority of mid- and late-war vehicles.
This track type is strongly associated with production from:
Factory No. 183 (Nizhny Tagil / UZTM)
Factory No. 174 (Omsk)
Factory No. 112 (Krasnoye Sormovo)
It became the default visual configuration for:
T-34 Model 1943
T-34-85 (1944–1945)
For many modelers, this is the “correct” and safest option when building a late-war T-34-85, as it reflects the most commonly documented factory configuration.
