VKB US Style POV Hats and Buttons

These are US-style replacement POV hats and buttons for VKB hardware. These were modeled on an MCG Pro flight stick but should work with other VKB hardware like the STECS throttle or anything that uses similar hats. These WILL NOT work on the Gladiator sticks.

The designs are from the F-16 style stick and are made by eye so don't expect exacting detail to the real world version.

There are 6 options:

-Gray F-16 trim hat for the “Master Mode” hat on the MCG

-Black castle hat for the “MANVR” center hat. There are two versions, old and new, based on various versions of F-16 sticks.

-Gray two-way countermeasures hat. There are tall and short versions. The tall one looks more authentic and works well on the thumb “RESET” hat. The hats are all 4 way, but because of the button's width, you'll lose the right direction. The short version works well on the index finger “DC” hat if you prefer to retain a 4-way hat there similar to the Winwing F-16 stick.

-Finally, there is a gray button that turns a 4-way hat into just a button. This works well on either the “RESET” or “DC” hats, the DC position being the most authentic to the F-16.

The hats are all two-piece construction to improve print quality. The shaft for the two-way countermeasure hat needs to be mounted in a certain direction, there's a small nub modeled on the part that should face forward or back. A vice or a flat metal plate to press them in will help with assembly. All the gray hats or buttons have a step inside the shaft that must go on the button shaft a certain way. They take a little force to put on the first time but be careful not to break your stick. The tolerances are tight so you may have to rescale slightly in your slicer. If the shafts don't stay in the hat tops a dab of super glue will keep things together.
