Description

*Updated profile to v2 - improved design which is now easier to take apart (better gap tolerances, and an indent at the back to prise it apart without damage).

Snug click-lock case to build an mmWave sensor for ESPHome using an ESP32-S3 SuperMini and a DFRobot C4001 (SEN0609 25m mmWave sensor).

The C4001 is kept in place with 2x M2x4mm screws (clearance for M2x5mm is there so should be fine).

5 wires to solder (assuming you use both UART pins and the OUT pin).

I used:

(C4001→ESP32-S3)

5V→5V

GND→GND

OUT→GPIO13

TX→RX(GPIO44)

RX→TX(GPIO43)

Here's a link to the ESPHome yaml config: https://github.com/drathbone/ESPHome/blob/main/ESP32-S2_DFRobot_C4001.yaml - it's using the generic config supplied on the DFRobot wiki, with changes for pins.

The enclosure is a tight snap-fit, and I print in PETG (due to ESP32-S3 heat), although it's a fairly simple print so should be good in whatever your chosen filament is. There's a few little holes for some airflow across the ESP32.

Hope someone else find it useful :)
