Kensuke - Laios's sword from Delicious in Dungeon

Kensuke - Laios's sword from the anime Delicious in Dungeon/Dungeon Meshi.

My sister wanted this sword for a cosplay and I couldn't find a model that I liked so I made my own. Blade is about 900mm (35.43"). Total length pommel to tip is 1211.517 mm (47.7"). Size is based on medieval bastard swords and thus is adult sized.

Assembly

Three 5mm (~3/16") dowel rods are required for assembly. Total length of dowel channels is 1170 mm (46") but that can be split up over several rods end to end. I have used carbon fiber rods for a more rigid blade.

Use the top ring of the grip to help with alignment when gluing the cross guard halves together.

Just slide each element on to the dowel rod in order. Apply super glue between each layer for a permanent hold. If painting, glue blade with dowels exposed then slide into grip after painting.

Work in Progress

-I plan to add an accent piece with holes for eye stalks.

-I do have a scabbard designed but have not printed it yet for testing.
