Description

A friend wanted a Wheel of Fortune for a fun night with games etc, Instead of buying one we thought it might be something I could have a go at designing, well this is the outcome, It's a Wheel of Fortune with 10 segments so you can spin for a number, could be the higher the number the better the prize etc, something like that.

The Wheel uses a bearing to enable it to spin more freely, the size of the bearing is 22mm diameter, 7mm depth and the hole in the centre is 8mm These bearings are popular with skateboards etc and are cheap.

To assemble the wheel, the bearing needs to be fitted first, I did this by aligning it with the hole and then used a plastic mallet to knock it in until it was a flush fit, a standard hammer and a piece of wood would do the same job, the stand feet can now be fitted, these are optional of course, you could glue the stand to piece of wood for added stability, the stand feet are a tight fit, I tapped these against the worktop to fit them, I added 4 neoprene pads to the stand feet as well for added grip on a surface.

The wheel can now be mounted and the screwed knob inserted and tightened, allowing the wheel to spin as free as you want, the pointer is fitted next and then I made an end cap which is also the stop for the pointer to stop it spinning all the way round.

I haven't added any colors to the wheel in Bambu Studio, this adds to print time and is purely aesthetic, but if anyone wants to make it more colorful then the option is there, with my version I did it in the Red Marble PLA and White PLA.

No supports, Print is standard apart from the turn screw which has 100% infill.

Great little project to design and print and it has a use…..Bonus!
