Description
This improved version of my original brass sorter (https://makerworld.com/en/models/1118198-brass-sorter#profileId-1115999) adds a fourth tray and an optional blank tray in case you don't recycle 22LR brass. (keeps the 22LR and dirt/trash together)
updates in this version:
Incorporating some comments and learning during use, here it is. It is sized to sort 45 ACP,40 S&W, 9 mm, and 22 LR while letting the trash fall out the bottom. Will also sort other calibers, including rifle calibers (see table in images). In this design I wanted to hit a few criteria to set it apart:
Simply pop off the lid, stack the trays in reverse nesting order, hold it over the bin dump the dust pan full of brass and debris into the top. Pop the lid on and give it some shaking back and fort, kinda like gold panning. Keep it over the bin as all the dust and trash will work its way out the bottom leaving you with four trays of sorted brass. When you're all done, re-nest and pop the lid back on.
This also works amazingly well for sorting brass after tumbling. You can clean mixed brass and use the sorter to separate it all back out. Just hold the sorter over a bucket to recapture your tumbler media.
I've printed in PETG and it is holding up well, PLA would probably be fine also. I've included two versions of the lid, one setup for color on color lettering and the other plain.
Enjoy!
PS. There are several plates, don't blindly print them all, 6&7 are optional.
