A1 Series Filament Hub Helper Giraffe

 

On September 28, 2024, the A1 Series Filament Hub Helper Squid was released. I received many thanks from people, as well as a lot of Boosts. I truly appreciate all of you! However, some people reported issues they encountered. The most common feedback I received was that the hole diameter didn’t very match, or the PTFE tubes would pop out when changing filament. Some also expressed a desire for compatibility with other creators' Cable Supports. As a result, I have redesigned this A1 Series Filament Hub Helper Giraffe. The name comes from the fact that, after installing the PC4-M6 Pneumatic Connector, I think the model somewhat resembles a giraffe 🤣 Thank you so much to everyone who gave me suggestions in the comments!
 

The A1 Series Filament Hub Helper Giraffe has the same main functions as the Squid. You can visit the A1 Series Filament Hub Helper Squid page for the detailed description and important notes. The following section only provides the installation video and the improvements made. 

 

Note that “A1 Series Filament Hub Helper Giraffe” requires the purchase of PC4-M6 Pneumatic Connectors for PTFE Tube and additional PTFE Tubes in order to function. "If you don't want to buy PC4-M6..." means you don't need to purchase PC4-M6 Pneumatic Connector for PTFE Tube, but you should insert the PTFE tubes as deeply as possible into the model to prevent them from popping out when AMS lite changing the filament. "Lightweight Helper" does not have the Y-shaped splitter function, but it is extremely lightweight and highly recommended!

 

Note added on April 4, 2025:

Compared to the Helper Squid, the side splitter of the Helper Giraffe has a larger angle in its design, which is necessary to accommodate the PC4-M6. This might slightly increase the resistance when performing the filament insert through the external spool, but based on my testing, I found it to be acceptable.

However, the "If you don't want to buy PC4-M6..." version does not require space for the PC4-M6, so I modified the model to reduce the angle of the side splitter. This should make the filament insert process smoother and less obstructed. I hope this helps!
