Description
We all know that the AMS feeder funnels are a bit… sensitive. Even with the new ceramic inserts in the AMS Pro 2, a little bit of caution goes a long way in preserving your AMS funnels from abrasive filament. Heck, even ~500 hours of PLA managed to mangle mine.
Before I even made my first print on my H2D (which came in today!) I designed these to work with the all-new AMS Pro 2.
I specifically designed this with a curved tunnel for the PTFE tube. This helps to follow the natural curvature of the filament and ensure that the PTFE tubes have as much longevity as possible while also improving the reliability of the first-stage feeding.
The AMS Saver clips onto the front post to remain secure without any other major attachment points. It nests safely in the funnel with a contoured base.
Simply cut a 20mm slice of PTFE tube, shove it in, and clip them on - then you're ready to roll (safely).
NOTE: The part should be slightly loose, but not loose to the point where they just slip off. The small indented clips (see the image directly above) will hold it in place. If they are too loose, you may need to slightly scale down the print. All printers have different dimensional accuracy.
