What is this about?

This is a cosmetic cover for a Dell D6000 docking station. If you ever felt that the simple black design was a bit boring or didn't fit your office's aesthetic, this is the solution for you!

The cover leaves access to all the ports (excluding the Kensington Security Slot, if you need to lock down your docking station, you are probably not worried about the aesthetics*) and leaves the air vents completely free to avoid overheating.

How to print?

I printed the example in the pictures in PLA Silk White with the Logo in PLA Silk Metallic Purple. Pretty much any material or colour should work. The cover has about 1mm clearance, so even materials with some shrinkage should be fine.

Can I customize this?

You can easily swap out the colours in the slicer and I included one version with the Dell logo and one without (can be printed without AMS in a single colour). You can also use layer based colour changes, if you want to have a striped look.

If you want to customize the logo on top, I have also included the Fusion360 file, so you can easily customize it as well.

*) You can even modify it to include an opening for the Kensington Security Slot if you want to be safe and stylish at the same time 😅
