Description
Insulin Vial Saver
For my upcoming trip, I needed a reliable and protective way to carry my insulin vial, so I designed this Insulin Vial Saver.
It's printed in flexible TPU (A95), though other TPU hardness levels should work just fine. I wouldn't recommend using rigid materials like PLA or PETG, as they may not provide enough shock absorption.
The design features a simple click-closure mechanism: just press the lid to snap it shut, and to open it, apply a slight sideways push to release. It’s easy, quick, and secure.
Durability-wise, it's been drop-tested from 2.5 meters onto a concrete floor. It bounced—but the vial inside stayed perfectly safe and intact.
Thanks to the thick walls, it also provides some insulation, helping to keep the insulin temperature more stable during short exposures.
It’s not the most compact solution out there, but it’s practically bomb-proof.
There are two versions included: one with the word "Insulin" embossed on the case, and one without text. Feel free to add your own custom text in your slicer if you prefer a personalized version.
The print profile is adjusted so that it can print the overhangs well without support.

Added by request:
A model for harder materials such as PLA and TPU >95A, TPU for the AMS.
The click closure doesn't work with harder materials, so a model with a screw cap is included.
Please note: Using a harder material results in (some) loss of shock absorption.
