Does your girlfriend love makeup but doesn't see the point in 3D printing? Or maybe you're a creative person with countless interests, including 3D printing and makeup? This project is for you. Create a palette for round or rectangular magnetic pans tailored to your needs.
The prints shown in the photos were created for Glam Shop eyeshadows (26 mm diameter) and Feerie Celeste blush (42 mm diameter).
The default settings and prepared profiles are designed for eyeshadows with the most popular diameter of 26 millimeters. Such pans are used by manufacturers of single eyeshadows like Glam Shop, Pierre Rene, The Pastel Roses, Clionadh, Sydney Grace, and Devinah Cosmetics. However, using the generator, you can create a palette for pans of any diameter ranging from 20 mm to 50 mm (instructions below) and the rectangular version as well.
Personalization Options
Insertable or glue-in magnets
Optional system for stacking palettes on top of each other
Ability to print the lid and palette separately

Ability to change the diameter and height of the magnets
Practical holes for pushing out eyeshadows from the bottom
Optional label on the lid (AMS required)
Customizable spacing between eyeshadows slots
Generating a Print Profile
In addition to predefined print profiles, you can generate your own custom palette using the "Customize" button directly on the MakerWorld platform. Below you will find step-by-step instructions on how to prepare a correct print profile:
Open the customization wizard, enter your desired palette parameters, and click "Generate."
Download the created project as a 3MF or STL file. The 3MF format is recommended if you have chosen to print a label on the lid – this way, the project will already be divided into two different filament colors.
Set the model's infill to Gyroid 15% in the “Strength” tab. Use the "seam painting" tool to move the seam to the corner of the palette and lid – example below:
If you have chosen the hidden magnets option, you must add two pauses to the print to be able to place the magnets inside the solid. If using a 0.2mm layer height and default magnet and eyeshadow heights, the pauses should be added at layer 17 and layer 42. If you have modified height parameters, you must determine the layer number yourself. The pause should be added on the first layer covering the magnet hole – the "bridge" line type is marked in blue. See the graphic below.
Generate the print model and remember to correctly remap the AMS colors if you are printing with a label.
Magnet Assembly
To ensure the lid is attracted to the palette, it is important to set the correct magnet polarization. For both insertable and glue-in magnets, the assembly rules remain the same. The palette requires placing magnets in two different orientations. To avoid confusion, I put a label with the letters N and S on my set of magnets. Specific identification of the north and south sides of the magnet is not important – the label is only to remember the orientation of the held set.
First set of magnets
During the first print pause, magnets should be placed in the corners of the lid and under the eyeshadow slots. I use the side marked with the letter N for this purpose.
Second set of magnets
The second pause is for placing magnets in the corners of the palette itself. For both parts of the prints to attract each other, the magnets must now be placed in the opposite polarization. Therefore, I use the side marked with the letter S and place four magnets:
Printing Notes
With larger sizes, the palette lid is prone to warping. Remove it very carefully only AFTER the build plate has cooled down on its own.
Use the same method of arranging magnets between different palettes. This will prevent them from repelling each other and allow them to be stacked on top of one another.
Palettes with default settings are designed for eyeshadows with the most popular diameter of 26 millimeters (~1 inch).
By default, the palettes use magnets with a diameter of 6 mm and a height of 2 mm. You can change these parameters in the generator.
