I recently got the Carvera Air CNC, and while it’s an impressive machine, the stock dust boot left a lot to be desired. It felt like an afterthought—too much fiddling, a frustrating hose connection, and worst of all, no replaceable bristles or height adjustability.

 

So, I did what any maker would do… I designed my own dust boot! 🎉 See Original Non-Height Adjustable Version Here

 

Now, I created a new version that’s fully height adjustable! – so you can dial in the perfect clearance for any job.

 

✨ Other features include:
🔹 Magnetic quick-mount system – Snap it on and off the spindle in seconds.
🔹 Magnetic hose connection – Hose clicks in securely with no hassle.
🔹 Replaceable vinyl bristles – Swap them out anytime without replacing the whole boot.

🔹 Height-adjustable housing – Dial in the perfect clearance for every job.

 

This has made tool changes and cleanup so much smoother—and it actually works with your workflow & suction airflow, not against it.

This was printed in PLA+.

You will need the following:
(4) 5mm x 35mm Metal Rods (I used Stainless Steel Dowels 5x35mm)

(10) 8x3mm Magnets For Dust Boot Magnetic Mount
(4) 5x3mm Magnets For Dust Boot Hose Connector
(4) 5x3mm Magnets For Hose Connector
(5) 5x3mm Magnets For Hose Mount

(8) M3 Hex Nuts (4 for the Dust Boot Main Body & 4 For the Screw Knobs)

(4) M3x12mm Button Head Screws
(2) M3x10mm Button Head Screws
(2) M3x8mm Button Head Screws

(1) 260x120mm .75-1mm Thick Clear PVC Jelly-Type Vinyl
 

IMPORTANT NOTES:

• WHEN INSERTING MAGNETS PLEASE MAKE SURE YOUR POLARITY IS CORRECT!!
• YOU WILL NEED TO ADJUST SLACK ON HOSE TO ALLOW IT TO SEAT CORRECTLY WITH MAGNETS. OTHERWISE IT WILL DISCONNECT.
• Make sure to use the hose lock as shown.

Video of assembly of the ORIGINAL version that is not height adjustable. Same principles for assembly but you just need to add the 4x Metal Rods as described above. In addition there are now no magnets on the Main Body, instead they are on the Magnetic Dust Boot Mount

Print in orientation shown with support as shown (for shroud and mount screw hole only).
