Enjoy the design process of this piece. At that time, I had just brushed Porco Rosso for the second time, and I was deeply moved by the romance of flying on the sea, and I also wanted to make a seaplane. Then the search for information began, and in the DK encyclopedia a three-cylinder engine with an interesting shape was found, and in a further search, the first aircraft that flew over the English Channel was found - the Blério XI - this aircraft was the main reference in the front hood section. And then if the plane is as big as in Porco Rosso, the character is too small, or the plane is too big, and I want the size to be controlled, so I transform it into a flying machine, similar to a motorcycle, and this kind of vehicle can make the character more expressive. Then, in order to show the romance of the sea, I made the base of the waves to simulate the effect of landing. Originally, the flaps were open in the model, but I closed them for the sake of print reliability.
Basically, that's how the design process of this work is, I wonder if this kind of sharing will make the work more interesting? Thank you all for your enjoyment. Here's a reference artboard I collected at the time
This model comes from my personal work "Wind, Sea, Flight", which is a complete aircraft, A1 can be printed on a single plate, and can be placed independently and firmly on any plane.
The model itself is monochrome and needs to be painted by yourself, it is recommended to use PLAMATTE white for the best coloring effect. Pigments are recommended as non-toxic - soft-tip acrylic markers - or - acrylic paints, and soft-tip water-based metal markers are used for metals
The slender connecting rod in the model may be deformed to a certain extent after printing, so some landing glue and glue will be required to assemble it (if there are broken parts in the process of disassembly, it is recommended to use 9400 glue, which is better for PLA than 502).
The mouth of the propeller is slightly tighter, and the hole of the slot or propeller can be slightly sanded. Some parts are tighter when inserted for the first time, such as wings, and the insertion can be properly sharpened (80-300 mesh sandpaper or grinding rod is very effective for grinding PLA, and grinding tools greater than 400 mesh work very slowly on PLA, which belongs to fine carving. )
There are small slots underneath this cover, so care needs to be taken when removing the supports. Of course, if it breaks, it can also be directly glued.
The following is the assembly video I uploaded on my youtube, if you want to print, please watch the assembly video first, pay attention to the assembly method and order.
