Description
This filament feed inlet mount was inspired by the top-mounted universal piece designed by @als.adamo on MakerWorld.
Full credit to @als.adamo for the original inspiration— Universal A1 Stand
Who says spool need to be mounted on top of your printer or on the table beside the printer? Why not have an inlet on top that can just feed filament from almost anywhere? That's just what this part allows you to do!
Unlike that universal mount, this version has been modeled completely from scratch by me, specifically to accommodate a filament feed inlet mounted to the top of the Bambu Lab A1 printer. It is not a remix or modification of the original file—every detail was created independently to suit my own setup and requirements.
With this mount, you can easily relocate your filament tube inlet from the default spool holder to the top of your A1 printer. This allows your filament spools to be placed almost anywhere near the printer, making loading and unloading much more flexible and reducing the need to move spools around.
This design has been especially useful for my custom filament feeding system, which draws filament from a spool rack located beneath my printer on a cart.
See the attached photo for how my cart setup looks in action!
Note:
I did not add a hole for screwing the inlet into the print, but you can easily drill a small hole yourself for threading it in.
Compatible Models You Might Want To Ensure This Print Works Correctly:
-Filament snagging due to feeding system pulling the spool to the side? Use this Filament centering guide
-Want to suspend your filament spool similar to how I did? Use my Filament Spool Rack design
If you’d like to adapt any other aspects of my printer cart modifications, you can find the rest of those models in this collection here
