Description
Coffee is a lifestyle, and so is being ecologically conscious. Why not use the used coffee grounds to make biomass fuel that is clean and efficient? Making coffee briquettes is actually very easy and fun.Â
Â
I hope this small DIY kit gets you started. It's a simple hand-press to compact the biomass mixture and squeeze out water. It's designed for urban dwellers who does not have a huge garden/workshop space, but would still like to try making your own biomass fuel. The briquettes are great for barbecues and the making process a fun educational activity with kids.
Â
The kit can be used to make a briquette as it is, or use the Bambu Lab cardboard spool as a holder for the briquette. The cardboard serves as a fire starter as well.
Â
I hope this entry seeds a movement-driven brand approach for Outin, and building a portfolio of products and a community that support the entire coffee (and planet) ecosystem. From coffee bean farmers to waste management. I have added a carry-along coffee grounds container (with cleaning spatula), as a portable accessory, Â making it convenient to store used grounds on-the-go before emptying it into a bigger stash at home.

If you would like to get geeky about the science, you can google about the efficiency of coffee as a biomass fuel source.Â
Some simple info about fire briquettes:
I tested a few formulas and found this to be the best:
40% Wood shavings/dust
40% Coffee Grounds
20% Water

These 2 videos below helped me a lot in getting into making my own coffee briquettes. They have been doing it for years, so definitely worth a watch if you want to try this:
