Description

Parametric hook, universal and very strong.

How to use this file to make your own customized hook :

To customize the model, simply download the .SCAD file and open it with [OpenScad](https://openscad.org/downloads.html) (for some reasons it seems the thingiverse "customizer" doesn't work anymore). In the Openscad editor, change the numbers corresponding to the different parameters, to obtain the hook you want (it's millimeters). Press F5 to preview, F6 to render, then > File > "STL export". That's it, your custom model is ready to print. I also wrote a tutorial about this : [How to customize a SCAD file](http://sergepayen.fr/en/how-to-use-a-parametric-file/) Designing a parametric SCAD model is labor intensive. Details :

I’ve been looking a while for a parametric hook modeling, but I didn’t found any available model that ideally combines strength and customizing possibilities. So I tried to create the model I wanted. This is a universal and very strong parametric hook, easily 3D printable as a "finished product". I did a "stress test" with my parametric hook in its default configuration. The hook had been printed in PLA, with 2 perimeters, 0.2 mm layer height, and 20% infill. It supported a weight of almost 50 Kg, and probably could have done even better, but I didn't have enough heavy things to hang on it ;) Full documentation available as PDF (English / French) in the "Thing Files" section, or on my website : [Parametric U-Hook documentation](http://www.sergepayen.fr/en/parametric-u-hook) -- Customizable U-Hook is licensed under [Creative Commons - Attribution - Non-Commercial - Share Alike](https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-sa/4.0/) license.
