Description
Short Description:
A fully printable compression spring — no supports needed! Designed for fun, testing, or just to show what your printer can really do.
This spring was one of my very first designs — back then, my old printer needed supports to print it.
Now, with my Bambu A1, I can print it completely support-free!
A small but satisfying success that perfectly shows what the Bambu can achieve.
The base is printed with 25% infill using a Hilbert curve top pattern for extra strength and style,
while the rest of the spring uses 15% infill for light flexibility.
The result: a firm base and a nicely springy body!
After printing, check the top coils — on bed-slinging printers (like the A1 or A1 Mini), you might notice a little “motion blur” in the upper layers because of the Y-axis movement.
CoreXY printers don’t have this issue, and their prints will appear cleaner.
💡 To compensate on A-series or similar printers, simply use a modifier to reduce speed in the upper part of the print.
If you scale the model, don’t forget to adjust the layer height accordingly.
