I’m sharing the cup and portafilter holder I designed for the LL SG98 Grinder.
You can choose between a rectangular and a round version
The tray is designed for use with a blind shaker and a 58mm portafilter. Thanks to the integrated magnet, different adapters can be made in the future.
For assembly, you will need:
- 3x M4 grub screws
- 2x M4 heat inserts
- 2x M4 nuts
- 2x 15x2mm round neodymium magnets
- 1x M4 hex screw (length depends on your portafilter)
- Superglue
Assembly Instructions:
- Insert the M4 nuts into the sides of the tray. You can secure them with a bit of glue.
- Insert the heat inserts into the portafilter holder and the bottom part of the tray.
- Glue the small round part onto an M4 grub screw, then screw it into the bottom heat insert. Make sure it is properly centered. (This part allows you to adjust the tray angle using an Allen key from the front.)
- Glue one magnet into the magnet plate and the other into the portafilter holder.
- Glue the magnet plate into the tray. (These are two separate parts to ensure a cleaner finish.)
- Place the small square plates in front of the nuts—they prevent the grub screws from scratching the motor. (I used some tape to hold them in place during assembly.)
Finally, position the tray at the desired height and gently tighten the grub screws to secure it.
