Description

Design: This is the second version of my standard Raspberry Pi case. I have found this design to prove particulary effective and as such would like to share it with others in the RPi community. It is designed for the model 4B but it may fit other versions. I only have 4B's so cannot confirm this. The design maintains a minimalist aesthetic, avoiding unnecessary embellishments or complex structures. This ensures that the case remains functional, easy to print, and cost-effective. RPi's like to run hot so the case includes a series of vents on the top and bottom in the form of a wave pattern. These openings allow for passive airflow to dissipate heat generated by the Raspberry Pi's components during operation.

Assembly: The case features a two-piece enclosure that securely fits around the Raspberry Pi 4B. The top and bottom pieces are designed to snap together, providing easy assembly and disassembly. Assembly requires 4 x M2.5x13mm screws (shorter may also work). The upper part of the case is designed to self tap so nuts are not required.

Usage: This case is designed for software based projects such as a simple PC or Kodi box. GPIO ports are not accessible but all other connections are open and easily accessible. An important part of this design was to ensure the SD card can be easily removed and replaced without having to open the case.

Internal Dimensions: The internal case clearance is 17.4mm above, 5mm below and 2mm around the sides. This is around the board so you need to account for components as well. If you want to add heatsinks then make sure they are no taller than the USB sockets.

Print: The 3MF files provide the top and bottom prints on separate plates to make it easy to choose separate colours. If you just want to print as a single colour then you can place both models onto one plate for quick and easy printing.

Boost MeIf you like this model then a Boost would be most appreciated.
