Customizable Filament Swatch (BambuLab Compatible)

Take control of your filament collection with this fully customizable swatch, designed using OpenSCAD! It's perfectly sized to be compatible with the official Bambu Lab filament swatches, so it will fit right into your existing collection. Keep track of every brand, material, and color you own with a clean, consistent, and professional-looking tag. An empty swatch is also included as a print profile for convenience!

🛠️ What can you customize?

This model is fully parametric, meaning you can fine-tune almost every aspect of it right in the MakerWorld customizer!

• Swatch Dimensions: Adjust the width, length, height, and corner radius to create a swatch of any size.
• Hole: Control the hole's diameter and exact X/Y position.
• Text Content: Change the text for the Material (e.g., PLA, PETG, ABS), the Brand (e.g., Sunlu, eSun), and the Color (e.g., Gold, Red, Black).
• Font Selection: Choose from several clean, built-in fonts like Liberation Sans, Arial, and Roboto.
• Text Appearance: Customize the size and boldness (thickness) of each line of text independently to get the perfect look.
• Show/Hide Text: You can toggle the text on or off completely to print blank swatches if you prefer.

 

🖨️ Print Settings

The best way to print a swatch is, of course, with the filament it's meant to represent! This is a very quick and easy print. A smaller layer height and nozzle will make the text look much nicer. If you print it without text, standard settings work perfectly. Infill doesn't need to be high (5% to 15% is plenty). No supports are needed at all. Just slice and print!

 

💡 Why did I make this model?

I wanted to save a sample of all the filaments I buy before the spools are empty, so I know exactly how a color looks for future projects. Other models didn't let me put enough info on them or required an AMS. I love the size and feel of the official Bambu Lab swatches, but wanted to create my own for all the different brands I use. By designing this in OpenSCAD, I realized I could give everyone the power to create a perfect, custom swatch for any filament in their collection!
