🦋 Foldable Butterfly Cup Holder – Print & Assemble Version

After releasing the original Foldable Butterfly Cup Holder, I was thrilled by the positive response. 

However, I noticed that some users had trouble with the folding mechanism—mainly because the hinges sometimes fused during printing, making the wings difficult or impossible to fold.

To address this, I created a new version where each part is printed separately and assembled afterward. This change eliminates the most common point of failure and makes successful prints almost guaranteed—even for those using less precisely tuned printers.

While assembling the parts may take a little extra effort, this version has clear advantages:

• Hinges are now printed separately, so there's no risk of them fusing during printing.
• Tighter tolerances result in significantly less wing sag compared to the original.
• Stronger hinges thanks to optimized print orientation.
• Fully A1 Mini compatible—even this large design can be printed in parts on compact printers.
• Easier multi-color customization – since parts are separated, you can print each one in a different color without filament changes.
• Shorter print times is possible due to the print direction is optimized to produce the same strength with fewer walls

The default hole diameter is 60mm, but feel free to scale the model to match your needs.

Glue-free assembly is possible, but for better durability during use, glue is recommended.
Just be careful not to block the hinge movement when applying it.

Please assemble by referring to the photo below.

When assembling the hinge, place it upside down on a flat, solid surface (like tabe edge as shown) and press down firmly from top to bottom for easy assembly.

When using adhesive, use only a small amount on areas that need to be fixed without movement.
